Austro-Hungarian trails
This hiking tour starts in a small village in the hinterland of Risan, Ledenice. The gravel road leads to the village of Ubalac, from which, along a slightly undulating path from the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, you reach Vrana hill, a fortress that is popularly known as St. Andrew. Positioned at 2km from the starting point of this tour, it should be noted that it is located at 742m above sea level, so having that in mind, it can be concluded that it was also an important defensive and strategic point in the bay. Thus, this fortification, although dating from the time of Venice, the Venetian Republic, is an important legacy of the Austro-Hungarian period of rule in Boka and persistently survives as evidence of the time when key military points in the bay emerged that today have valuable cultural and historical value at the national level. From the fortress, the view extends to Perast, the last stage of this tour, 4 km away. Arrival in Perast provides a comprehensive whole of this tour that is breathtaking in every sense.
